A very unique project with a company that specialise in bespoke small structures and primarily treehouses. The brief was to take a cramped, dilapidated houseboat, on the canals by the river Trent and turn it into a modern open plan home on water. There are a number of beautiful houseboats permanently moored on the trent canals, some up to 3 stories high, there’s even a few which are listed due to their cultural significance. This house boat was a simple single story boat made by one man in the early 90’s.

Due to water damage we had to strip the structure back to its bare skeleton. We inserted new windows, bi-folding doors, steel cantilevered verandas, a spiral staircase, rooftop decking and finally finished the house in western red cedar cladding.
